Este cuaderno se ha escrito así: Los niños de la escuela y otras personas de la comunidad, siguiendo las indicaciones del profesor, han pedido a sus mayores, en particular a sus abuelos, los recuerdos del pasado. Los niños hicieron este trabajo, durante varios meses, como tarea que debían escribir en la casa con participación de todos y añadiendo sus dibujos. Los jóvenes y adultos de la comunidad realizaron entrevistas más extensas. Posteriormente las coordinadoras ordenaron las narraciones por temas , sin modificar los relatos. Esta versión fue leída a la comunidad para que opinara, hiciera sugerencias y la corrigiera. Finalmente el profesor escribió la introducción del cuaderno y añadió la lista de participantes. La diagramación quedó a cargo de las coordinadoras.
